Vibra Healthcare Welcomes New Market CEO to Southeastern Michigan Hospitals

DETROIT, MI, December 14, 2021Vibra Healthcare is proud to announce Abir Mehanna as the market chief executive officer of Vibra Hospitals of Southeastern Michigan. As market CEO, Mehanna will oversee operational and strategic leadership of Vibra’s two Southeastern Michigan critical care hospitals.

With a 40-bed hospital in Taylor and a 28-bed hospital in Detroit, Vibra serves the Southeastern Michigan community with specialized care for critically and chronically ill individuals requiring an extended period of recovery time in a hospital setting. Mehanna is well-suited to lead the specialty hospitals, which will benefit from her expertise in quality outcomes, patient safety, and her sincere passion for patient and family-centered care.

Mehanna has a strong background in healthcare operations and has held a variety of leadership positions in the industry. She joins Vibra from Beaumont Health, Vibra Hospitals of Southeastern Michigan’s joint venture partner. Having worked with Beaumont Health since 2006, Mehanna looks forward to the opportunity to continue to work closely with the Beaumont team and community in her new role.

Mehanna holds a master’s degree in healthcare administration from Central Michigan University and a bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration services from Baker College. She is a member of the Midwest Chapter of the American College of Healthcare Executives (MCACHE), serving on their Diversity & Inclusion Committee. The committee focuses on raising awareness and implementing programs around belonging in the community. Mehanna is passionate about giving back; she volunteers her time at a free clinic for underserved communities in Detroit, working to improve access to healthcare and eliminate disparities.

Mehanna enjoys family time with her husband and their three children, ages 18, 14, and 7. “My family keeps me fulfilled outside of work,” added Mehanna. “I strive every day to be the best role model to my children. I’m so grateful to my family support system for helping me to keep balance in my life as I pursue my career goals.” Together with her family, Mehanna enjoys basketball tournaments, swimming, biking, and cycling activities.
